first of all, let me say, i am sure you will find my talk interesting and informative.

a if i had to describe my favorite school subject, i would choose to speak about the subject biology.
b i am not sure if you liked biology when you were at school.

a in high school mr. liang was my favorite teacher, and he taught me biology.
b that is to say, he was such a good teacher and made the study material so interesting that i came to love the subject that he taught.
there are several reasons as for why i would like to talk specifically about biology as a subject that i liked very much. allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.

a first of all, i love nature and the outdoors.
b what i mean to say is that biology enables me to know more about nature, and i am able to go out and often practically see what i have learnt.

a secondly, in biology we learn a lot about animals.

a lastly, i believe that the destruction of the environment is the greatest problem facing our planet today, and we need to find solutions to

b that is to say, i would like to become a biologist one day, and make a contribution in our fight to save the environment from total destruction.
